Keybinds, gameplay, and more

Post by YY-James »

A lot of new players have a lot of the same questions relating to this topic: HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAME?!?!?!?!?!?!

Let's take this to start with. This will give you a general understanding of what does what in the game and a few general options to play with.
https://jkhub.org/files/file/75-jedi-outcast-manual/ - Instruction manual (Yeah thanks Steam for not giving the players this :grimacing: .)
http://www.joz3d.net/html/q3console.html - The actual commands themselves, this is advanced, read carefully, and don't try commands just because. You could break your game if you do.

Soon, i'll add a lot of detail regarding, the bindlist, how to make a bind, how to make scripts, general multiplayer gameplay (not force, already did that here viewtopic.php?f=44&t=625) and a lot of small stuff before we all forget about the details.

To be honest, this sounds really confusing on first read. Might be even more confusing for new players.
And +/- are not modifiers you can apply to all commands. It's more that there is a couple of commands with +/- in the beginning. Such as "+forward" and "-forward".

Put some effort into it :P

This is a config I made for 1.04 CTF and other full force/guns modes, haven't played much with it but it seemed ok. Tell me if you see any problems with force power bindings, not much experience in this regard.

mouse1 is attack, mouse2 moveup, mwheeldown is weapon1/saberattackcycle, mwheelup is heavy repeater.

Atm I use both space and mouse2 for jumping in regular nf and have hard time using saber with this cfg.

What sort of keyboard do you have? :D I've never had a keyboard with a key between A and Capslock? :D Looks nice though, even if I remain old school and select my powers with the mousewheel xD
