I'm hoping someone can make me a player model
& a map object model would be real cool too...

I imagine this player model with no animations. He just stands there like that. His arms dont even hold the weapons. the weapons would just float right in front of him as you fight.

I made this image with a real simple program Anim8tor but it doesnt export to the right file type for the map object. The player model part Im so lost in trying to understand tutorials lol

Posting here I'd hoped someone would like to take on a project.

PLease/Thank you

I'll try a couple of things.

Does he at any point need to be textured (a painted on face etc), or uni-colored? Just wondering if I should bother UV-mapping.

Fantastic.
Nothing other than a light blue green digital looking color like the jpg i posted.
I dont know what a uvmap is lol but if that means anything like shaders with textures to omit light or something... It would be nice if he had a dim digital glow to him. But its not necessary that it would glow I suppose.

So im making a Ms. Pacman level3 map... This is why i want 8bitman. To include the player model to play it with. Im surprised you didnt ask why at all. Llol

I wanna make a frogger map too if i can ever figure out how to use smart_train or func_train. I cant get either of them to work. If i ever get that working I had the thought of using Your DUCK, boothand. And calling it ducker.. Or something like that. Lol

Hehe yeah, I'm used to seeing all sorts of weird requests at JKhub.

I managed to switch out rodian's head for a cube, just to check if it's working, and got it working in game. It seemed to _DEMAND_ that they are weighted to something (read: the bodypart follows a bone), but I might be able to weight it all to the hip or something so it's all inanimate. Not sure how yet, but I'll continue later and try to make it look more like this 8-bit guy.

This is my attempt. Can be colored by changing the color of torso.jpg. No shaders applied. If you want him to be non-shaded or have other surface properties, this must be done through shaders.

Let me know if you want something changed!

PS: He sounded like rodian on the video, but after I packed him, he sounds like Kyle (the default). This can easily be changed without modifications to the model file.

Thats awesome man HAHA !!!
just 2 things, tho I guess I can deal with both because its just AWEsoMe! I very much appreciate your awesome job and effort in helping me out.

1. He looks a little pillow-y-. Could his edges be harder?
2. I have to access the model in the commandline. he doesnt show up in the list.

//edit- On second thought that might just be the lighting scratch #1. :-D

1. Now has hard edges (done by splitting each surface using Edge Split)
2. Added model icons and team colors so it shows up in the model picker.
