Re: How to create player models?

You can do the modeling in C4D, but I don't think there are any glm exporters for it. You might have to do the rigging and exporting in Blender or 3DS max. There's probably some tuts you could follow on JKHub, but don't have the time to search for them right now. https://jkhub.org/files/file/1413-bl...

Re: Tip for simple renders if you have an NVIDIA card

Shadowplay is great. Got tons of footage with it that I wouldn't otherwise, because of its 'record last x minutes' feature.

Re: weird grey box

If you type (in the console): nt_ and press tab, do you see any NT commands that could be related? Maybe something in cg_draw*? No idea what NT added in that mod.
Is it only in CTF gametype? Does it happen with other weapons? Items like bacta or mines?
cg_drawRewards?

Re: Pc gamepad not moving correctly with jk2

I think Xpadder might cost money, or have a trial. Antimicro is opensource, so you could try that first. https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro/releases I think the interface should be pretty easy to figure out. If you can't find out or nothing on google, I could get my gamepad and see if I can get ...

Re: Pc gamepad not moving correctly with jk2

Last time I tried that, I used Xpadder or antimicro to bind the gamepad to PC controls, so binding the right analog stick to mouse movement for example. What approach are you going for?

Re: DeFrag 1.02

Uhm. Well, pros and cons of having one server vs two: Pros: -Only got one best times list if there is one defrag server, so the best times are the actual best times, no need to compare between them. Also won't be that inconvenient if it was to be displayed externally like on a website or something. ...

Why not use JK2MV and get those maps on Daggo's JK2MV compatible defrag server?

um well. Better to make THIS game more enjoyable and worth playing. Re: Project "Make jk2 great again"

For the record (some people seem to think this), I am not involved with JK2MV development in any way. Also, JK2MV prevents some cheats/exploits, but not scripting.

Re: DeFrag 1.02

There is a defrag server now, called ///DeFRaG. Not sure where the maps are though, couldn't auto-DL them. That's all I know. You asked about any other unrelated server-idea - yes, I'm hosting either a Force Rebalanced (modded FF server that attempts to make laming impossible in FF), or a FL server ...

Re: Project "Make jk2 great again"

We talked on Skype, but to sum up and add some new points: Appealing to game studios, then (in the best and unlikely scenario) waiting years to see if someone's JK2 inspired game is good enough, is not better than making JK2 better. The source is open, JK2MV happened. Some things can be done by the ...

Ah okay, was hoping you'd say Blender, cause I've been playing with the idea of animating some JK2 characters these days. Have done it before, but can't find the trace of it on any hard drive.

Re: Project "Make jk2 great again"

I agree that you need different kinds of videos to introduce new people. We have the resources too in the community. On a sidenote, I think CTF could benefit from having non-random SD. Have tried it a couple of times with Silver, he might have something to say about that too. In baseJK there's 20% c...

Re: Project "Make jk2 great again"

Of course, you're right to bring it up here beforehand. I just think we should rather focus on making this game better/more attractive, than to have an outsider make something new. It would take years and would probably turn out pretty differently. Also keep in mind CTF, FF and FL all have vastly di...

Re: Project "Make jk2 great again"

I'm studying in what would best be described as a game-dev school. I'm in the (final year of a) programming class, the others are animation and visual communication, and it's quite focused around game development. Where I study is also one of the best locations for game development in Norway, so we ...
