Player Model Causes Access Violation

https://jkhub.org/files/file/2224-swtor-revan/ I was working on recoloring the JKA model linked above for personal use, but every time I try to examine it in-game, it doesn't take long for the game to crash due to an "Access Violation." These crashes seem to occur when the model is used by...

Re: Suggestion: mv_httpReferences

Not too many non-JK2MV clients left, and those who are tend to be the few new players from time to time, who is quickly told about JK2MV, and cheaters who rely on hacks which may not be compatible with JK2MV :D Let's not forget returning players, my server apparently attracted one while I was makin...

Re: Suggestion: mv_httpReferences

Edit: Once again, this is what will be referenced even without any special configuration: 1. pk3 containing currently used qvm mod (don't put serverside qvms in a pk3!) 2. Current map Not quite true, there's one completely optional PK3 on my server that's automatically referenced without being forc...

Re: Suggestion: mv_httpReferences

@Kameleon - I'm not sure how that's less confusing than adding just one TXT file, but I see what you mean. Still seems a lot less convenient for hosts, but to each their own. @fau - That assumes a lot. Having tried the standard client during recent tests, I found very little indication that my serve...

Re: Suggestion: mv_httpReferences

I would much rather rename my current forcelist, or make a new one, instead of rename every extra file I want to push. Renaming PK3s would change the load order anyway.

Suggestion: mv_httpReferences

The Idea: Just as sv_referencedPakNames tells the server what files to push to clients, mv_httpReferences would tell the server what files to push using only the faster method. The new command would show files listed in (for example) http_forcelist.txt while still respecting the normal black/whitel...

Re: Cannot get Internet-clients to download files

Extensive testing confirmed that PK3 Referencing fully works as intended in every scenario I could think of; both regular and MV clients received only what was listed on the server.

Re: Cannot get Internet-clients to download files

Looks like you're right about Dropbox; all of my connection attempts were forced into HTTPS. Looking forward to trying again when TLS is added. Sounds like there technically isn't an issue if I run both download systems. I think it's implied in the documentation, but does the UDP system respect the ...

Re: Cannot get Internet-clients to download files

The server is my PC, so using Dropbox to supply the files would keep other clients from lagging and me from having to open more ports. Also, I've noticed my server doesn't even try to push files when I turn the HTTP functions off. Edit: For now I'm doing as suggested and it's working fine (though fa...

Cannot get Internet-clients to download files

I'm having trouble with an HTTP setup that worked on older versions of JK2MV. I've tried 1.3.1 and 1.3-169 Win32-x64 Portable for server and client. The server is running Dueler's Mod 1.4, mv_httpdownloads is 1 and mv_httpserverport is set to https://[Dropbox URL]. Local connections can grab every f...

Re: com_hunkmegs

Just tried the portable x64 variant of 1.1-48 and it looks like the missing texture issue has been resolved somewhere along the way. I ran a client-hosted server and loaded ffa_bespin, ffa_deathstar, ffa_imperial and every custom map in my folder; not one texture on that JA model failed to show.

Re: com_hunkmegs

The version I'm using is still 1.1. @ouned: Shortly after that post I was using 1192 as the setting for a little bit, but it failed once later in the day; closed a folder I previously had open and it launched successfully afterward which leads me to believe I didn't have that much available at the t...

Re: com_hunkmegs

About the skin, what I meant was that I had merged those files into one so I could use a specific look in JK2. I took the three specified files and merged them into a new model_default.skin file. The hunkmeg thing is something I'm experiencing with and without the MV, so I don't believe it has anyth...

Re: com_hunkmegs

@ouned: Here are the skin and the model it's based on: https://jkhub.org/files/file/752-kyrios-black-white-edition/ https://jkhub.org/files/file/1120-hs-anakin-skywalker/ When I started using the Kyrios skin, the first thing I saw was a missing hips texture on the default skin; the 'team' skins were...

com_hunkmegs

There's something I wish to understand about this command and I'm hoping you guys can help me with this. As I understand it, "com_hunkmegs" tells JK2 how much RAM, in megabytes, to allocate at launch. I've allocated 2048 in the past without issue (a friend even ran it with 4096 as the sett...

Re: Loading a custom player skin/model loads Kyle instead

I'm using the installer package of v1.1. As for the skin, it seems to have something to do with the fact that it has the word 'Morgan' in its name. The skin's name was "MorganSoH." I tried renaming it to "SoH_Morgan," then (just today) something entirely different and it now work...

Loading a custom player skin/model loads Kyle instead

Just to be clear, I'm having trouble with just one skin; there are over two-dozen other custom player skins and models in my base folder and they all appear to work fine (I even checked the standard models to be sure). The skin I'm trying to load is based on the Shadowtrooper, JA version. The first ...

Re: Creating Server crash

Sorry about the necro-bump; I just recently started using JK2MV, encountered the symptoms ManiaC posted, and I believe I narrowed the issue down a little. It seems JK2MV doesn't like it when 'g_maxForceRank' and/or the player's Force configuration are set higher than 7 (7 being Jedi Master). My frie...
